Legal · End-User License Agreement
A license you can read in one sitting.
What you may do with the PM Vault instruments once you own them — and the short list of things you may not. Written to be understood, not endured.
Last updated · 14 June 2026
This agreement covers the PM Vault instruments — the portfolio line (PM Vault Watch, Gate, Steer and Count) and the single-project line (PM Vault Cadence, Foresight and Converge) — together with the templates and materials that ship with them, and the documents in the PM Vault Library. You accept it at purchase. It is deliberately short; if anything is unclear, ask us before relying on it.
1. The license grant
When you buy a PM Vault instrument, you receive a perpetual license to use the files for your personal projects or the internal projects of your business. The license does not expire, does not renew, and does not require an account to remain valid.
The instruments are licensed, not sold. We keep ownership of the files themselves; you keep ownership of everything you make with them.
2. What you may do
- Use the instruments and templates on your personal or internal business projects.
- Edit, adapt and extend the templates to fit how you actually work.
- Use anything you produce with them — reports, registers, gate packs, dashboards — freely, including commercially. Your work product is yours, with no attribution required.
3. What you may not do
- Resell, redistribute, sublicense or share the original files themselves.
- Publish the files, or lightly modified copies of them, as your own product.
The line is simple: what the instruments help you produce is yours; the instruments themselves are not for passing on.
4. License tiers
There are two tiers, and they differ only in who is covered:
- Single. One person, one business. Your license, your machine, your projects.
- Team. A named group within one organisation. Each named member has the same rights as a Single licensee; the restrictions in section 3 apply to the group as a whole.
If your team grows past the names on your license, write to us — moving up a tier is a conversation, not an audit.
5. Ownership
PM Vault retains all rights, title and interest in the instruments, templates and accompanying materials, including their structure, design and documentation. Nothing in this agreement transfers that ownership to you. Equally, nothing in this agreement gives us any claim on the work you create using them.
6. Offline by design
The offline guarantee. The instruments are client-side software. They require no account, collect no telemetry, and send nothing anywhere. Your project data never leaves your machine. This is a design commitment, not a configuration option — there is no setting to switch off, because there is nothing to switch off.Because there is no server side, your license cannot be remotely revoked, throttled or expired. The files you bought keep working whether or not we do.
7. Updates
We may release updated editions of the instruments from time to time. Updates we provide for your purchased edition are covered by this same agreement. We are not obliged to release updates, and the absence of an update never disables what you already have.
8. No affiliation; trademarks
PM Vault is an independent publisher. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or certified by PMI, AXELOS/PeopleCert, or Scrum.org. PMBOK, PMP, PMI and PRINCE2 are trademarks of their respective owners. Where our materials reference standards, they are aligned to PMBOK® 8th Edition concepts; we cite standards as authority and do not reproduce them. PM Vault Cadence and PM Vault Foresight are product names in use pending trademark clearance.
9. No warranty; not professional advice
The instruments and materials are provided "as is", for general professional guidance. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. They are not legal, financial or professional advice — apply your own judgment on your own projects.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the license.
10. Termination
This license ends only if you breach it — most relevantly, by redistributing the original files or publishing them as your own. On termination you must stop using the instruments and delete your copies. Sections 5, 8 and 9 survive termination. Work you produced with the instruments before termination remains yours.
11. Plain-language note
This agreement is written in plain language on purpose, and that plainness is part of the deal: we will read it the way a reasonable person would, and we ask you to do the same. It is a summary of the bargain, not a trap — and it is not itself legal advice.
